My old youtube channel and missed income

Have you ever discovered an old laptop in the cupboard, only to find it has a password that you can't remember? And it was one you probably used several times a day when you did use it, so how on earth is it so easily forgotten? The great thing is you can use a password removal tool to gain access to all your old content and then decide whether to keep it or let it go.

Well imagine this in the virtual sense. Back in the day when youtube started monetising videos by putting an advert (a single square picture) to the right of the video and when they used to put an overlay of text on the video, I had a pretty successful youtube channel. A lot of times the ads were for dating sites! How far has youtube come now...

I used to have 2 youtube channels. One of them monetised and the other, not as the income wasn't huge it didn't matter. There was no youtube career in those days.

One of those channels I deleted. The other channel without the ads, remained. However as I got busy with work, life, having kids, I didn't login. In that time youtube was sold and taken over by google. Logins changed from username to using a gmail address and my youtube account became a legacy account. Last year I thought I'd have a look at the videos and was surprised at the hundreds of thousands, or millions of views they had. I could have been a millionaire, right? But I can't login. I can't use the suggested methods to recover it. They don't work for me.

What a silly mistake.

The strange thing is that I have no regrets.

I'm finally starting to get on top of my life, filing my important documents, becoming a minimalist so I have a clear head but I won't lie, it does bug me a little that I can't login and say proudly that yes, that youtube channel is mine.
