Well, it turns out Youtube doesn't like to pay people for their work...
I obviously never made a lot of money off of my channel. I am not really losing anything of value. I won't have to look for a second job to pay the bills. I know all of this, but I am still a bit pissed off.
I understand why Youtube did what they did. They needed to get all the crap channels out of the picture so their ads aren't being published on them. They want you to earn the right to make money. I also realize that this is their platform and they can do what they want. I know all this, but I am still a bit pissed off.
I go into the videos knowing that I was not going to make much money, but that is factored in already. NOW, I've made content that will no longer have any opportunity to earn me revenue. It's not like I made my video after all of this happened... after my monetization was taken away. No, MY content was made before all of this and will now be unmonetized. Why not grandfather the content in? Why not allow certain users to apply for a review? It bothers me that they just took the easy way out by taking out the little guys.
If I post a video on Youtube again, I will do it with the understanding that I will not make any money. I will not be compensated for my time. I would have no right to complain about that because I have the choice to do that. I'm pissed because I made content for my following and YT says... "Hey, your content is good enough to be on our site, but that share you use to get.........nah bruh, we aren't going to do that anymore."
MY content is still on your site. I probably signed my life away the moment I signed up for Google and it isn't ACTUALLY my content anymore, but it is the principle of it all. Take my monetization away if that is what you think will make your platform better, BUT the content that is there... that I spent my time on... should have ads on it.
This post started off as an introduction to this page, but I am in a mood tonight and it felt good to vent a little bit.
