The 'New Rules' singer is named as the face of the brand's new
feminine fragrance
YSL Beauté have announced Dua Lipa as the face of their new, yet to be named, feminine fragrance which will be released later this year.
"The voice of her generation, Dua Lipa embodies the values of independence and freedom which have always been part of Yves Saint Laurent's DNA," says Stephan Bezy, International General Manager of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, in a press release. "It is a great honor to collaborate with such a young and talented artist for our new feminine fragrance."
This new partnership marks Dua Lipa's first collaboration with a beauty brand. The most streamed female artist in the world at just 23 years old, the singer has fast become a fashion industry favourite attending the Met Gala with Versace last month, performing for Chanel at the opening of the Mademoiselle Privé exhibit in Shanghai and appearing on covers for British Vogue.
In an Instagram post this morning, depicting the singer against an orange sunset, Dua revealed the announcement has been "the hardest secret to keep". "Thank you to the incredible @yslbeauty team for making me feel so at home," she writes, "for allowing me to play a small role in helping choose the final scent and for making my dreams come true on working with a brand I love so much. So excited for you all to see the campaign that was shot by filmmaker and friend @nabil but for now here's a little behind the scenes shot... xx".
According to her Instagram, the singer reportedly visited the French fashion house headquarters in Paris today, presumably to discuss what the fragrance we'll all be buying this year will smell like. Stay tuned.
