President Zelensky reiterated his alarm over the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, saying, "Russia is technically ready to cause a localized explosion at the Zaporizhia plant. This could lead to a radiation release, which is a serious threat."
Zelensky pointed out on Thursday that Russia may commit terrorist acts at the Zaporizha nuclear power plant, and stressed that the plant should be returned to Ukrainian control.
Regarding the plant, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's General Directorate of Intelligence noted on June 30 that Russian military units are gradually leaving the plant. It also announced that among those who have left the plant are employees of the Russian state-owned nuclear company Rosatom, and that Ukrainian employees contracted by Rosatom have been advised to evacuate to Crimea by July 5.
