The Ancient One - PART SEVEN

I rushed in to the room to find Kemi pinned to the floor, a huge guy on top of her trying to force her legs open. I froze. For one, the guy was huge, well above 6 feet with arms as thick as my thighs. And I have really thick thighs. He had her hand pinned to the floor and one of his humongous thighs was trying to spread hers.

Time froze and everything became still. It was as if I had more than enough time to consider the pros and cons of intervening. Rape is bad and everyone knows that. But getting beat up and the rape still happening was just simply unfortunate. I moved from my position and walked round the room, approaching the struggle from a different angle. He was naked with tattoos forming different symbols circling his body in spirals. The guy was damn built. His biceps bulged as he bent towards her. He was frozen in time just like Kemi was. It seemed I had found another super power hidden within me. I smiled to myself and basked in the feeling of being the most powerful being I know. Except God. Not that I know God personally or something, but by being a Christian and going to church and stuff, although I had not seen the pulpit of a church in over 7 months. That's not the point. The point is, I was powerful, and I was going to make Mr Huge guy regret ever thinking of raping my girl.

Suddenly, his head that was facing downwards towards Kemi jerked up and found mine. I jumped back in fear. They were red and glowing, and as I watched horns pushed their way out of his scalp. They grew and grew, up to 3 feet curving in on each other like the antlers of an antelope. He moved slowly like he was fighting the time stop I had placed on him and Kemi. One knee moved and held, anchoring his body as he pushed himself upward ever so slowly. Panicking I rushed him, summoning my strength as I landed a blow to his solar plexus. The impact created a shock wave that cancelled the time stop and blew him backward, out of the house across the canal to the other side. Kemi who had been cut off mid scream earlier resumed her frantic screaming for about 4 seconds before she realized that he was not on top of her anymore. Her wide eyes looked around frantically before finding me standing slightly to the left of the edge of her vision. I looked down on her and asked if she was okay. She nodded numbly and opened her mouth to say something. Before she could speak I felt a violent prickle on my neck and instinctively time stopped again. I looked back and saw Mr Huge guy ,who was now clearly a demon, right behind me with his fist stretched forward, a few centimeters from the back of my head. The fist was covered in blue flames and it was still moving, albeit slowly, as he fought to break the time stop. His face was full demon now, open in a snarl, two sharp teeth elongating beside his incisors like a vampire. His face was now red with more tattoos painted on them.

I moved under him and waited as he oh so slowly tried to correct his momentum. I took a deep breath and released my muscles. Quick as lightning I leapt forward and my fist plowed into his jaw, pushing it upward. I heard a crack and another shock wave exploded from impact as he was propelled upward. This time the time stop did not end and I leaped up after him and smashed his face downwards before releasing the time stop. The combined shock waves that occurred in succession ripped a hole in the side of the house as Mr Huge Demon guy crumpled to the floor, out cold.

I turned back towards Kemi and as calmly as I could I asked,

"What did you do?"
