Have you tried Zappl yet? If not, I suggest you do. This could realistically be the thing that sends the value of STEEM to the moon.
Yesterday I sent out my first Zap. Here it is.
I am sure you are wondering what is so groundbreaking about this? How could I conclude from one Zap that it is going to affect the price of STEEM in any significant way while being enormous for this blockchain?
My answer to that is simple: money and learning curve.
Taking a look at my Zap, you will see it earned $.14. Two things come into play here. To start, this Zap took all of 10 seconds to create. Personally, I had articles I spent a lot of time on net me $.25 so this is an incredible return. The second thing about this is that I have no following on Zap. I just signed up and sent out a Zap. Imagine if I had 500 or 1,000 people following me.
I was not one to do a lot of Twitter but I have done it.
Net earnings: $0.00.
The reason I mention learning curve is that it is one of the drawbacks to the grow on steemit. People get accustomed to Facebook or Reddit, making it hard to switch. Many of us, on here, experienced the same thing when trying to go from steemit to busy.org. The differences in interface means that one has to learn something different. This is not what people naturally gravitate towards.
When entering Zap, it took all of about 5 minutes to figure out. The interface is very basic and, from what I remember, similar to Twitter. This is what makes Zappl a hidden gem. If people can come over from Twitter and simply start Zapping (for money) within minutes, that will be huge.
The one drawback I found is that the Zap ended up in the blog section on steemit. While I appreciate the idea of followers being able to track everything someone does, I can foresee getting into a "Zap war" with someone and that "conversation" ending up on the blog. I prefer if the developers change that to put the Zaps in the comments section if they are going to tie them into steemit.
That said, Zappl can be huge. Twitter has a large following with millions of tweets being done each hour. Most of these people are out there promoting something they are doing in an effort to gain recognition and money. Zap handles both in a more direct manner.
EDIT: Another drawback....since Zappl is tied to the blog section, one can only post every 5 minutes. This really needs to be corrected. You cannot have a microblogging/conversation site like that and limit people to Zapping every 5 minutes. The developers really need to correct this immediately unless they want to kill Zappl.
One other aspect that is worthy of mentioning is that Zappl allows for 240 characters which is about 100 more than Twitter. While not earth shattering it is a significant difference.
In conclusion, people can either Tweet for free or Zap for money.
Imagine if the President of the U.S, with all the tweeting he does used Zap...he would be a billionaire if he did that.
If you liked this post please give it an upvote and a resteem....AND ZAP IT.
He already is a bilionare, or is he?

Wow, really cool so this is the steem based twitter?... So every Zapp get posted on the steem blockchain and it will show on steemit as a post too... Not really sure if i want to drawn my steemit followers with continuous Zapps, tough i see how this could attract significantly new users... Still people would need to create an account on steemit...

Absolutely...we now have a twitter like app on the steem blockchain.
Yes it gets posted in your blog section which could be a problem. From what I can garner, the steemit developers can turn that off.
I think that Zappl actually has wider appeal than steemit....there are a ton more people who tweet compared blogging. I think it really could put the steem blockchain on the map. There have to be 5 million people on twitter who want to make some money off their "tweets"...simply Zap instead.
Also, people will bring others over since people dont usually tweet to themselves.
By the way, I dont think those people will care about the Zap being on steemit...many of them might not even visit it.

Yep, agree... But it will flood the steemit.com blog with zapps and will make it hard to find posts... There should be a turnaround to this, same happens with dtube, dsound and all other platforms over steem blockchain... I use dsound a lot, but i realized that uploading 10 songs in a row would make my steemit block looks spammy...

It does make it look awful and could make quality content hard to find.
It is good for stuff to appear in multiple apps since they use the same blockchain however it will be problematic.
I hope they address this issue quickly....I would use Zap a lot more if it didnt fill up my blog.

I think the same... They could simply make a change to steemit.com and thats it... All post will be recorded on the blockchain, but they dont need to show on steemit.com blog or feed

@Hi taskmaster4450, I have been contemplating about whether to try Zappl or not (since I post on twitter about once a year)... but I think you have won me over and I will give it a go now!

It is worth getting on there and starting to use it. I dont think it will replace your twitter until some of the bugs are worked out. I am starting to post how the 5 minute per Zap is a major hindrance.

I haven't used twitter in about two years, so I can wait 5 minutes per Zap no problems :D Maybe your post has got lots of people Zapping and now the system is overloaded...

Is the Zappl website app slow to load for anyone else? Just signed in for the first time and the site is lagging super hard.

Yes it can be....it is another one that was only introduced so they are working out the bugs.
Some of these apps literally are only days old so it is the very early stages.
Patience is required for some of them.

The cool thing is you are already registered since it uses your steemit info.
Be sure to use your posting key instead of main key...as you should be doing on here anyway.

This is not true, at all!
Zap post can be seen in your blog,
Your followers can see your zap post,
After all, zap is dependent to steem blockchain
You may think that you don't have followers in zap but in steemit, they can see it

That is true...I realized that after I wrote it and researched more.
I tried to follow someone on Zap and was already following since I am following on here.
Thanks for bringing up that very important point.
