This is going to be my entry for this week.

This is what the stencil looked like before I started:

Suggestion for next week's colour is brown.

Thanks for creating and hosting this contest, @magiccleatus.

Each week @magiccleatus puts up a stencil, and everyone is invited regardless of skill level to choose a stencil and colour it any way you want: digital, or print it out and colour it the old fashioned way using any of the various methods whether it be crayons, coloured pencils, markers or water colours, or whatever you choose to use.

And thanks to @dreemsteem and @bluefinstudios, @xcountytravelers, @thekittygirl, @shadowspub, and to @viking-ventures for their tireless efforts and inspiration for helping me to learn, grow and develop on @steemit.com and this community.

Also want to add @magiccleatus and @lildebbiecakes for creating the envy and
inspiration to push myself for better quality artwork.

Here are some other contests that may be of interest to you as well if you enjoy the
relaxation of colouring and freehand drawing

Looking at this makes me feel like Sping has Sprung! It looks like the colors of Easter, I love the purple background you have chosen. It works so well with the overall stencil. It’s amazing how the color red stands out amongst all the other colors, It was brilliant to just put a little bit in it. And also to put it directly in the center, to gives it balance. Your so good at color combos. Some people have that gift, and you got it❣️

Thank you @lildebbiecakes! Will be getting some oil based pencils and heavy sketch pad soon, have a Michael's not far from here! Meanwhile we will keep plugging away at it!

That’s fantastic, I’m so glad you have decided to do that. Derwent, or Prismacolor is the brand to get. I have another suggestion for you friend, you also might want to get yourself an adult coloring book, a lot of them look just like this zen stencil. They call them adult, because they are more intricate than a child’s coloring book. You can practice on your shading skills with one, I have several myself. Good luck my friend, and blessings ❣️

Thank you, @lildebbiecakes, I will look at Michael's when I am there, will also check Amazon

I love the mixture of neon and pastel colours, they contrast each other and create a pretty pattern of alternating bright and pale colours. I especially like the transition of colour from the pale green to the pale purple closer to the center. I also like that you left some of the sections that frame the shapes as white, adding to the pattern and a clever use of negative space. The purple diamond textured background is a nice touch and fits well with the shapes within the design!
