Day 98: My Experiment
Oct 22, 2018
A bit of a rant today:
“Everything that irritates us about others can lead to an understanding of ourselves.” Carl Jung
We were all children once. Somehow the adult forgets what it is like to be a child. Forgetting the hatred of stupid beliefs with inane reasons such as: “because I said so” or “that is how it is”. The child lives in a little concentration camp with these huge adults that have complete tyranny over their lives.
Compassion rises when realizing each and everyone of us was that vulnerable child. Though that does not absolve us from responsibility.
What irritates me: The child is blamed for parental inadequacies: “I have to push the kids to hurry up”-(how about starting earlier), “my kids make me late”(put your needs on hold, you chose to have children-take responsibility for goodness sake.) “he won’t eat his vegetables”(maybe you are a terrible cook), “he won’t sit still”(he is a boy!!!) she is rebellious” (you may be a lousy parent.)
Adults blame their parents then hypocritically say to their children: “I did the best I could.” Talk about passing the buck and perpetuating the lineage of terrible parenting.
Well that is my rant.
By the way despite the cold weather feeling not too shabby this morning. Had meat for 2 days and whoa the runs. Had to bind a bit with a bit o cheese.
Back onto no dairy. This experiment is a wild ride.
love to all
