A joke from World War II.
This is a real joke posted on the site of psychological warfare, about the mistakes that occur in the psychological warfare and propaganda that accompany wars, Donald Fish speaks of a publication issued by the Department of Psychological War:
The story begins that when the time came for the invasion of North Africa, there was a British decision to prepare a publication in order to ensure that the Arabs won alongside the Allies in the war (and since the time was not so many translators), the political war department used its only Arab expert, A man named Mohammed Ali. His original work was a green tea merchant from Casablanca. He first dealt with the French and then sided with the British after the collapse of France.
The publication was printed after the merchant translated it into Arabic and dropped millions of copies on the Arab population.
After the invasion, a US intelligence officer who had participated in the downfall came to Gibraltar's psychological warfare and had a handful of these pamphlets and asked the officer in charge:
"What in hell is this you were dropping across the country?
The political officer replied: "These are leaflets to win the Arabs"
The American asked him, "Do you know what is written in it?"
The officer in charge of publicity said with full confidence:
Of course I know .. It is written that "the victory of the allies" in order to align the Arabs with us ie with the victor.
Said the American: This is not written but written in it:
"They bought green tea from Muhammad Ali"
