1.Guide
Starring Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman this is an amazing tale of human relationships and resilience. I personally feel inspired by the movie every time I see it for its portrayal of how ordinary people can have extraordinary lives and the way faith works.
Needless to say Dev Anand looks amazing. Some unforgettable dialogues:
“Na sukh hai, na dukh hai, na deen hai, na duniya, na insaan, na bhagwan ... sirf main hoon, main hoon, main hoon, main ... sirf main”
There is no joy, no grief, no pity, no world, no human, no God ... only I am there, I am there, I am there, me ... only me
“Joh aadmi apne naseeb ko kosta rehta hai ... uska naseeb bhi usko kosne lagte hai”
A person who keeps cursing about his destiny ... his destiny also starts to curse him
This scene can never fails to inspire you.
2.Anand
A super oldie……no other movie like this about living in present tense and having a zest for living.
Amazing dialogues:
Hum aane waale gham ko kheench taan kar aaj ki khushi pe le aate hai ... aur us khushi mein zehar ghol dete hai
We stretch and pull the sadness of the future and bring it onto today's happiness ... and we mix poison in that happiness
Babumushoi, zindagi badi honi chahiye ... lambi nahin
My friend, life should be big ... not long
Undoubtedly the best scene.
3.Dil Chahta Hai
One movie which somehow makes you feel younger and fresh. A heart-warming story of friendships and bondings which never go out of style.
Really witty dialogues too :
Perfection ko improve karna mushkil hota hai
It is hard to improve on perfection
Pyar sooch samajh kar nahin kiya jaata ... bas ho jaata hai
Love is not done with thought and understanding ... it just happens
A Favourite scene:
4.Zindagi na milegi dobara
As the title suggests a saga of why its important to enjoy your life while it lasts. A highly watchable easy on the eyes kind of movie.
The dialogue below catches the essence:
"Dilon mein tum apni betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho toh zinda ho tum, nazar mein khwabon ki bijliyan leke chal rahe ho toh zinda ho tum ... hawa ke jhokon ke jaise aazad rehno seekho, tum ek dariya ke jaise lehron mein behna seekho ... har ek lamhe se tum milo khole apni baahen, har ek pal ek naya samha dekhe yeh nigaahen ... joh apni aankhon mein hairaaniyan leke chal rahe ho toh zinda ho tum, dilon mein tum apni betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho toh zinda ho tum"
If you carry eagerness in your heart then you are living, if you carry dreams in your eyes then you are living ... learn to live freely like the wind, learn to flow freely like the river ... embrace every moment with open arms, see a new horizon every moment with your eyes ... if you carry surprises in your eyes then you are living, if you carry eagerness in your heart then you are living
And the bestest scene from the movie:
5.Dasvidaniya
A highly sensitive and emotional movie on what matters in life. Puts things in perspective and to top it all has the lovely song Pyari Ma , mamma.
Terrific dialogues too.
Isse pehle ke life aapko kha jaaye ... tum zindagi ko pee jao
Before life eats you ... you should drink life
Life mein biwi badal, ghar badal, gaadi badal ... lekin apna brand kabhi mat badalna
In life change your wife, change your house, change your car ... but never change your brand
A scene which I think has the potential to change your thinking about life.
6.Queen
A girl centric movie which I really love for its boldness and feel good factor. Shows you are your own strength.
Some of the dialogues which make you feel you were thinking the same.
Mera haal na Gupta uncle ke jaise ho gaya hai. Gupta uncle ko na cancer ho gaya tha. Unhone kabhi sharab nahi pi, cigarette nahi pi, phir bhi cancer ho gaya. Isse achcha toh pi hi lete.
(My condition has become like that of Gupta Uncle. He , Gupta Uncle got cancer. He never drank, never smoked still got cancer. Better he had tried drinks.)
Main india se hoon, Rajouri. Rajouri suna hai? Apne honeymoon pe akele aayi hoon!
(I am from India, Rajouri. Have you heard Rajouri? I have come alone on my honeymoon!)
And an amazing scene about breaking free.
7.Dor
A must watch movie about forgiving, understanding and moving on in life. You will love it.
The dialogues are too powerful and so are the performances.
(kabhee-kabhee hamen rokane vaala sabase bada santaree hota hain hamaara apana dar……apane aap ke lie jeena svaarth hain, par apanee khvaahisho ka gala ghotana usase bhee bada gunaah…..kabhee apane man kee baat suno, usakee taal se taal milao, to jeene ka maza kuchh aur hee hain ………..aur jab raaste mein koee rukaavat aa jaaye to aankhe band karo aur lagao chhalaang…imaan kee chhalaang… aur gar imaan saath ho to yakeen maano paar bhee jaroor pahuchoge}
(At times what acts like a sentry to stop us is our own fear…….it is selfish to live for yourself, but to kill your dreams is a bigger sin…..sometimes listen to your fears, match your rhythm to your heart, then living is fun………..and when there is a roadblock close your eyes and jump….leap of faith………and if you are true you will undoubtedly be successful.)
And an amazing scene:
