The beautiful bride of the on-going African Cup of Nation, a country that surprised every bookmaker by advancing from the group stage through to the quarter-final has bitten the dust and kiss the AFCON goodbye a few hours ago. They were beaten by a margin of 3 goals to nil by one of the North African footballing giants, Tunisia.
Even though Madagascar was the underdog prior to the match, the match was cagey and a 50/50 thing in the first half. However, the second half saw the first timer crumbled under pressure and succumbed to 3 nil defeat.
Before today's 3 goals, Tunisia advanced to the quarterfinal without actually winning a single match, advancing to the quarterfinal through penalty a shoot-out. Madagascar, on the other hand, led a group made of Nigeria, Burundi and Guinea before advancing to the quarterfinal through a penalty shootout.
The semifinal of the competition will be seeing 2 West African countries facing their opponents from North African countries. While Nigeria will be playing Algeria, Senegal will be tugging it out with Tunisia.
