"That's right." A sweet, innocent smile graced her lips, as if what she had just said was no more consequential than commenting on the pleasant weather.
The corner of Yin Shaojie's mouth twitched. After all, he was a wealthy young master, accustomed to the warmth and softness of his bed. How could he possibly sleep on the couch? Wasn't Xiao Xiao doing this on purpose to mess with him?
Fearing that he might backtrack, Xiao Xiao raised her finger and pointed at him, repeating his words, "You just said that whatever I say, you’ll follow through with. No backing out now!"

Just as he was considering going to get a can of beer, he heard the soft patter of footsteps.

Yin Shaojie flipped over, sat up, and looked at her, asking, "What are you doing out here?"
"I’m thirsty, I need some water." Xiao Xiao walked to the kitchen and took a drink from the fridge.
"Give me a can of beer." Yin Shaojie ordered.
Xiao Xiao, feeling good and not bothered by his commanding tone, simply shrugged. She grabbed a can of beer and tossed it to him, before sitting on the carpet next to the couch, crossing her legs.
"Where’s the remote? I want to watch TV!" She looked around for a while, but when she couldn’t find it, she extended her hand towards him.
Yin Shaojie rummaged around on the couch for a moment before finding the remote and handing it to her.
Xiao Xiao pressed the power button.
He glanced at her profile, noticing that she had become more and more charming over the years. Her face, once round like a cute little kitten's, had matured; her jawline now had sharper angles, giving her a delicate and refined appearance.
"Hey, the guy you had lunch with at the cafeteria today... Is he the 'handsome guy' you were talking about? Your taste is really slipping if you think someone like him is handsome." He suddenly spoke up.
Xiao Xiao shot him a sideways glance, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "What? Are you jealous?"
"Pfft, jealous? What would I be jealous of? That kind of guy could never compare to me." Yin Shaojie snorted, clearly displeased with her comparing him to that boy.
His good looks were leagues above that guy’s.
Xiao Xiao sipped her drink, her smile turning mysteriously enigmatic. "You’ve got it wrong. The 'handsome guy' I was talking about isn’t him. Do you really think my taste is that bad? The truth is, my real handsome guy just didn’t have time to join me, so I asked a classmate to come with me instead."
She had always been surrounded by handsome men and beautiful women, and her standards had been set impossibly high.
