To promote the adoption of crypto-currencies in Europe, the Spanish banking platform, 2gether, has just launched a prepaid Visa debit card crypto-monetized with the assistance of Paypal. On the other hand, Polispay , another Mexican platform, was forced to cancel its Mastercard cryptocurrency debit card for users outside the country.
2gether to the assault of Europe
Spending cryptocurrency is a difficult task that requires a long process that the consumer society can not easily adopt. To relieve the transition from traditional currency to digital currency, a Spanish platform recently launched the crypto debit card 2gether usable across Europe (19 countries).
The system works with a process of instant conversion of a cryptocurrency in currency, the users of the European Union will thus be able to use it to make a payment in euros or via Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash BCH, Waves , Ethereum (ETH), EOS, Litecoin (LTC) and Stellar XML), free of charge.
Note that customers will have to perform a complete KYC (identity verification) check before using this card.
Polispay Mastercard crypto debit card suspended
On the other side of the Atlantic, things are not going well for Mastercard and Polispay. Having issued several cards in the Mexican ecosystem, Polispay would no longer be able to provide it, since its supplier violated the rules of Mastercard.
In fact, it would appear that Mastercard never allowed the company to sell cards outside Mexico, while the latter claimed to have the necessary capabilities and licenses to relocate its products.
Also, deposits, teams and orders for new Polispay cards have been suspended until further notice.
Following this suspension, the platform undertook to reimburse the BTC users whose cards were invalidated.
On the other hand, it will work on solutions to restore the platform's availability by soliciting new card suppliers.
