🎥°Dr Sleep
Director: Mike Flanagan
Cast: Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson, Alexandra Essoe

Both this horror movie has to be one of the greatest Horror films of all time. The thrilling sensation of the acting, cinematography and music is just amazing. I watched the movies all night, Home Alone biting my nails. The movie (Dr Sleep) was directed by Mike Flanagan and starred by Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson, The Acting and Suspense were Amazing, Rebecca Ferguson and all the Actors were perfectly cast.

Just so you know, Dr. Sleep is the sequel to the masterpiece of director Stanley Kubrick's horror masterpiece, The Shining (1980). In Shining, the story follows the story of a grown-up adult, Danny (Ewan McGregor), the son of his father, Jack (Jack Nicholson), who is deprived of souls by the spirits and killed by his insanity. Shining is one of Jack Nicholson's masterpieces as well as Stanley Kubrick.

Danny has the so-called "shining" ability. Shining is a term coined by the author, Steve King, which refers to a kind of spiritual sympathy between humans and , where all evil spirits gather and the building itself works between humans and objects such as the evil "Overlook Hotel."

In fact, original author Steve King complained that the filmed Stanley Kubrick had damaged the original. King pursues 'warm' no matter how scary, and leads to 'warm ending' because Kubrick's Shining is so dark. It is unfortunate that Kubrick's main tendency is to explore and blame the darkness of human beings and the irrationality of human society, but it is a complaint that the original brand is enough to own.

Dr. Sleep is a film that shows Steve King's warmth. That's true of the word “doctor sleep”. Danny, a saint who built a wall with the world because of his shining ability, was nicknamed as a handyman in death-defying hospice wards as a handyman.

But there is a group called Trunat. They are painful murderers of shining abilities like Danny, But they are different, It's quite interesting as a match between the shining fighters and Trunat, but it's not terrifying.

Doctor Sleep is a sequel to Shining, which draws on several settings for shining. The final stage of the fight against Trunat is the Overlook Hotel, a den of evil spirits. But even if you didn't watch Shining with a completely different movie, you'll be left with enough to see. Like Steve King's original film, it's quite fun and interesting which is worth seeing again like shining.

Great film, I suggest watching The Shinning again first before watching Doctor Sleep although it is not necessary to enjoy this film, but it helps with the scenes that pay homage to The Shinning and it is well worth it. We watched the director's cut of Doctor Sleep which was 2hrs 54mins run time. The pacing of the movie was slow at times but it didn't feel like 3 hrs. The storyline is darker than the original without overdoing it with gore, although graphic violence happens throughout. (not one for the kiddos)
I would recommend this movie, it was done very well and was much better than professional movie critics gave it credit for!
