I transported my troops into British Guyana and got ready to invade them to liberate the whole American continent from their filthy colonialism!
Well the British destroyed my navy and i couldn't keep fighting so i had to sign a peace... the peace they wanted, I didn't check their navy on the ledger before declaring war and obviously they outnumbered my navy 3 to 1... but the fun thing is, my navy was slightly obsolete too, so they actually fought my whole 70 fleet navy with 35 of their own and they managed to take down 51 of my 70 ships while they only lost 11, a sad day in American naval history.
For a peace, they requested that i ceded them my colony of Liberia and i had to oblige before they started requesting more stuff sadly :-(
Truly a sad day in our history but we will recover it eventually.
In other news, Commodore Perry went to Japan and managed to get us a good deals with the natives.
We decided to give all the necessary resources to American explorers to find the source of the great Nile river!
Underground railroads are supporting escaped slaves and they have my total support!
We got offered an elephant from Thailand but we couldn't take it!

The war was slightly disappointing, their forces where scattered and there where no big battles... at all, i crushed them so hard its not even worth showing it....
They got swiftly re annexed into the union!
and the first thing that pops up when the nation is united of course....
Japan got reunified!
My ally Austro-Hungary seems to have gotten into a war with the newly formed Italy over Venice and didn't call me to help them and i didn't even notice until now, they also lost east galicia to the Russians.
And to end the game for today, the Gadsden Purchase happened and we got Tucson and Animas from the Mexicans for a decent price!

The navy thing was totally my fault for not paying attention to the British navy, but it won't take that long to rebuild.
Liberia will eventually be recovered :-D, an alliance with Japan sounds more mutually profitable for us instead of going with the dying Austro-Hungarian Empire at this point, they are not even a great power anymore.
The plan is to rebuild and unite the country since the civil war costed us some southern manpower, we need to help rebuild the south first and while that happens, i'll modernize the navy to be able to take the United Kingdom out of the seas, when thats done, no one will be able to oppose me in the Pacific/Atlantic, especially since i will build the Panama canal.
I will bring freedom to people across the world and establish some colonies in Africa :^) The Freedom is not optional, they will recieve it, want it or not :-D
