Abandoned Tuesday - My Crumbling Barn

As our country is slowly being turned from a country of self starters and small business owners to a financial state you see a lot of older barns and work shops wasting away to weather. My fathers old wood shop is now exception to this rule. In the 7 short years since his passing the old building has been infested by animals, fugus and is sinking into the ground. my father fed and clothed his family for almost 30 years inside this building.

I will never forget my father and the hard work he did to raise me and my brothers

your dad was awesome.

Thanks man we both always thought of you as

This building can be saved. I think there is a problem with the ground around the basement. The earth freezes and shrieks, shrinkage occurs. Perhaps you need to make a warm blind area around the basement. It is also possible to insulate the facade by spraying polyurethane foam and then to coat the facade with panels. Good luck with business.

this building was definitely built at the turn of the last century 1900's as a horse barn. it was built on flagstones around the parameter or just on the dirt ground. it sunk in to the ground at least a foot in the last 15-20 years. You would have to dig out under neither it and poor a foundation to save it.
