We hear that we are to abide in Messiah and He must abide in us. How and what does that look like? First and foremost, we must allow Him to cleanse us with the water of His Word! After we come to Faith, there is to be a constant renewing. His Blood is our atonement from sin, but we must continue to learn the Word of God.
His Word is to be written on our hearts. That is the renewed covenant that HE makes with the house of Israel and Judah as stated in Jeremiah 31:31-33, “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall make a new covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehuḏah , not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares יהוה. “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.
As we seek to draw nearer to our heavenly Father, we will go through trials, pain, and sometimes suffering. Hold fast and let Him be our strength in these and all times. We are to praise God in good and bad!
Draw near to Him through study, prayer, fasting. Then as we grow we Act out our belief. Faith without works is dead as James tells us. We are to be doers of the Word and not just hearers only. This was given to us in Deuteronomy 6:4-9
“Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one! “And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. “And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart, and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up, and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. “And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
This is known as the Shema in Hebrew thought. To hear and Obey! Y'shua (Jesus) reiterated it in Matthew 22:34-40,
But the Pharisees, having heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, were gathered together, and one of them, one learned in the Torah, did question, trying Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great command in the Torah?” And יהושע said to him, “ ‘You shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.’ “This is the first and great command. “And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ “On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Prophets.”
As we learn, as we trust, as we believe; God's Word will penetrate our once stony hearts. It is then as we walk out our belief in love to all that His fruit of The Holy Spirit will have us abiding in Him!
Much Shalom too all. May Abba Yah bless you!
