How to get louder mixes using Saturation

in ableton •  7 years ago

How to use Ableton's Saturator device to tame peak's in your tracks that will eventually translate to a louder mix. Saturator is a powerful plug for creating distortion tones, yet it is an equally powerful tool for transparently removing peaks from the signal. When audio full of sharp peaks is sent into a limiter, it has to address those peaks causing audible ducking, distortion, and all kinds of other artifacts that in turn lead you to having a quieter master.
