Voting matters for abortion rights.

Huge ramifications for abortion access with some state races in 2022.

Kansas- there is a ballot measure in August to explicitly allow abortion restrictions. It is critical this measure fails. The Democratic incumbent governor is facing a tough re-election and even if they win, the Republicans may have enough seats to override her veto.

Pennsylvania- control of the governorship will likely determine abortion access in the state. The Democrat should win the race, but in the event he loses, the Republicans are poised to ban abortion in the state.

Arizona- again control of the governorship here will likely determine abortion access in the state. It is already restricted, but a ban is on the table if the Republican wins.

Wisconsin- again control of the governorship is all that stands in the way of a ban. The current democratic governor is not enforcing a pre-Roe ban.

North Carolina- state legislature races will determine if the Republicans have enough to override the governor's veto on abortion restrictions. And control of the state supreme court will likely determine if such abortion restrictions are legal.
Michigan- abortion rights might be on the ballot in the state. Even if they aren't, if Republicans take the governorship they could end up enforcing the pre-Roe ban.

Georgia- a ban after six weeks is tied up in the courts, but may come into effect. If Abrams wins she could veto any further restrictions.
