Hello Steemians!!!

Acid Attacks are a maniac in our society. Despite being highly enlightened human in today's sophisticated world, there are still many persons who victimize innocent people mostly women.
Today i am gonna put a dayoff towards my face. But it should not be merely a dayoff, but rather an awareness among the masses about this maniac in our society. The #GiveYourFaveADayoff was started by some NGO Group in 2015 who raised awareness and helped the victims from Acid Attacks.

Acid Attacks are a heinous crime that not only damages the victims physical body but also distorts Inner self. The Victims are generally attacked on Face and in many of the cases the victim loses his eyes due to the attack or due to a series of surgical treatments that a survivor has to undergo. This rendering them blind for rest of their lives. The crime often falls under grey area in the eyes of law. There are also many cases where the death of victim occurs due to some grave injury. Not so long, The law considered acid Attack as GBH (Grievously Bodily Harm) although mere attack of knife is considered Attemptive Murder.

The demographics of Acid Attack victims are different with different region. The Acid Attacks are recorded to occur allover the world, be it poor, developing or even developed country. Being most common in South Asia region, commonly the Person affected by Acid Attacks in these regions are Women victimised on the helm of Dowry, Sexual Harrassment, Even Post-Rape cases.
Although Acid Attacks have been decreasing from some years but still the number is quite high.
According to Acid Survivors Trust International almost 1500 acid attacks happen Every year around the globe and more than half of them occur only in Indian Subcontinent.

The Bangladesh Statistics of Acid Attacks since 1999 is as:

Initially there were no specific laws to control or punish the culprits behind the attacks and they would easily become invisible under the radar. But due to the stern action of Governments and their Judiciary System along with constant Support from United Nations, certian laws have been framed to dealt with such heinous crime.

The World Capitals of Acid Attacks are Bangladesh, India, UK, Combodia, Pakistan.
In UK, even some Celebrities have been victimized with acid attack. Dr Mohammad Jawad, a plastic surgeon who built Katie Piper's Face after an Acid Attack in UK, says that the attack is about trying to destroy the identity of a person. It is also a form of extreme domestic violence which has become common.
Dr Jawad adds that it is vital to treat the acid attack burns as soon as possible. Unlike thermal burns, Acid Burns continue burning the skin till the acid is neutralized.

Washing the Acid Burn injury immediately with Saline Water (Salt Walter) will decrease the spread of burning due to reverse Osmosis property of salt and Water somewhat neutralizes the acid.

The Victim has to undergo a number of Plastic as well as General Surgeries inorder to Treat the Wound and Reconstruct the what is left off face or Body site.

So it is our moral responsiblity rather duty to eradicate and act against such heinous crimes that occur under our nose, in our neighbourhood or in another street. It is our moral obligation to prevent further victimization of innocent people. Report any such crime to the local police, Act on site, rather than just be a mute spectator.

Here is a Story of an Indian Acid Attack Victim Laxmi Agarwal who now is an Indian Campaigner with Stop Acid Attacks and a TV Host.

I salute you bro for bringing the issue in the light. Hope this reaches to more and more people.

Thanks for the Appreciation... Acid Attacks are merely not the attack on any part of body but the attack on victim's individuality and his/her identity. We should always condemn these social evils. India is still among the Red Countries where these attacks happen in large numbers. We should stand against these attacks and support the survivors to live a strong and socially normal life.
