En conmemoración de la semana mundial de la lactancia materna 2017, he querido dar mi experiencia y un oportuno lugar a todos los hombres que acompañamos a nuestras esposas en esta gran labor que es amamantar a un bebe. En febrero dios me ha dado la dicha de ser padre por segunda vez y ya con un chico de 4 años de edad se me había olvidado todo el esfuerzo extra que hay que poner en apoyo a nuestras esposas cuando nuestro bebe recién nacido está solicitando ser amamantado.

Antes de contar mi experiencia debo felicitar a todas las madres que permiten que sus hijos tengan la oportunidad de ser alimentados como debe ser, especialmente a aquellas que puedan amamantar de forma exclusiva. Recordemos que la lactancia materna es la forma ideal para que el niño absorba todos los nutrientes necesarios para su desarrollo y crecimiento. Según la Organización Mundial Para la Salud se recomienda lactancia materna exclusiva durante seis meses, y luego alimentación complementaria con alimentos según la edad.

MI EXPERIENCIA

Desde antes de que naciera nuestro bebe ya los papás tenemos obligaciones al respecto de la lactancia materna, lo primero que debí hacer fue buscar el “Saca Leche” y tenerlo a disposición el día del parto. Una vez que ha nacido mi bebe he retomado todo ese conjuntos de actividades que por lo general realiza mi esposa y claro hay que ayudar!. Todo sea por el bienestar emocional tanto de mi bebe como el de mi esposa, les digo que ese momento en que mi esposa y mi pequeña chica están conectadas es algo sagrado y si se puede decir hasta espiritual, es un momento mágico y de quietud para ambas que en lo particular me causa satisfacción.

Normalmente pasan estas cosas. Donde cada vez nosotros como padres debemos actuar.

1. Mamá cocinando = Bebe llorando, pidiendo ser amamantado
2. Mamá Lavando = Bebe llorando, pidiendo ser amamantado
3. Mamá quiere ir al baño = Bebe llorando, pidiendo ser amamantado
4. Mamá Comiendo = Bebe llorando, pidiendo ser amamantado
5. Mamá acomodando la ropa= Bebe llorando, pidiendo ser amamantado
6. Mamá Limpiando la casa = Bebe llorando, pidiendo ser amamantado
7. Mamá quiere salir en su carro= Bebe llorando, pidiendo ser amamantado
8. Muchas más, que les pido dejen en sus comentarios…………………….

Bueno acá les enumeré algunas de las más comunes situaciones donde la bebe se antoja de pedir su alimentación y hay de aquel que se atreva a retrasarla, seguro obtendrá una buena ración de llanto que aturdirá sus oídos un buen tiempo. Aquí es que aparecemos nosotros los papás para dar ese soporte a nuestras esposas ya que solo tenemos dos opciones posibles, la primera es hacer las actividades que ellas normalmente hacen o la segunda que es aprovechar esa conexión que también tenemos como padres para calmar a nuestra pequeña por un momento, mientras mamá pausa sus tareas y viene a amamantar.
Unas de las cosas más importantes que los papás debemos hacer es comprar todo el conjunto de vitaminas necesarias para que las madres se mantengan sanas en el tiempo que están amamantando, es fundamental que las mamás estén saludables durante todo este proceso y quien mejor que nosotros para garantizarlo, por eso es que ir a 4-5 farmacias a buscarlos en mi particular por la situación que vive mi país Venezuela también necesita un esfuerzo enorme.
Considerando que todos y cada uno de los miembros del hogar colaboramos para que este proceso de lactancia incluyendo a nuestro hijo mayor, les deseo una feliz semana mundial de la lactancia materna y que sigan apoyando a sus esposas en este aspecto. Felicidades a todos aquellos papás que también lo hacen posible y sepan que la lactancia materna no es solo de la mamá “Los hombres también lactamos”.
