I am traveling to Acapulco Mexico soon in February 2018, for a conference "CryptoPulco". I googled a bit to see if it is safe or not to travel this place: if you visit north American governments web sites, they all say "avoid non-essential travel to the western states of Guerrero (including Acapulco)" and "exercise a high degree of caution". But the reality seems a way far from what they say, Acapulco is a very safe place to visit or to stay, the fact is like in many big cities around the world there is always a bit of criminality, like in New York, LA, Montréal etc... Acapulco is no different than many other cities around the world for security.
