Tawakal is a very important part of Islamic teachings. Hence, the tawakal is strongly emphasized in the Qur'an. The word "tawakal" is mentioned in this Holy Scripture no less than thirty times spaced in 19 different chapters, eg Surah Ali Imran, verse 122; Al Maidah, verse 11; Al A'raf, verse 89; etc. This is one of the things that distinguishes between believers and non-believers.
According to Imam Ahmad bin Hambal, or better known as Imam Hambali, tawakal is the deed of the heart. That is, tawakal is not something spoken by oral, nor something done by the limbs. Nor is it a discourse or mere knowledge. But again, tawakal is the act of the heart so it can not be realized in physical form, such as silence without doing an effort lahiriyah.
The submissiveness shown in the absence of physical endeavor or outward endeavor can not be called tawakal, but Like a war, it is a surrender before going to the battlefield. Rasulullah SAW has given a description of the tawakal as he sabdakan in a hadith narrated Ibn Hibban:
اعقلها وتوكل
Meaning: "Tie your camel and put your trust in it."
The hadith gives the understanding that trust does not negate the physical effort or physical deeds such as binding a camel when a person wants the animal does not leave her alias missing. The question that often arises in relation to tawakal is when we should do the trust; whether before, during, or after our efforts or endeavors do?
Jamaah Jum'ah rahimakumullah,
If we consider the hadith, it is clear that Rasulullah SAW ordered someone to try or seek first and then put their trust. That is, humans should not be silent, idle hands, berenak-enakan, or lazy, while the affairs are handed to Allah SWT.
But if the above hadith we relate with Surah Al Imran, verse 159, which reads:
فإذا عزمت فتوكل على الله إن الله يحب المتوكلين
Meaning: "Then when you have made up your mind, then put your trust in Allah. Allah loves those who put His trust in Him. "
So, we will know that when we only arrive at the stage of intention alone to achieve something, or krentek in Javanese language, at that stage we also have to do tawakal to Allah SWT. In other words, trust must be done both before and after we strive to achieve certain intentions.*follow me @acehlamsijarah n vote for more information
