"Peisijuek" Tradition in Aceh

Peusijuek is one of the rituals of custom procession in Acehnese culture. This tradition usually do to begging the safety, peace and the happiness in life. Peusijuk tradition is one of an existing tradition and it is still done a lot now. This tradition usually do in almost all customary activities oh Acehnese like wedding, traditional celebration, thanksgiving and the else ceremony.

The implementation of peusijuk ritual usually do by a religious leaders or customary characters in a society. That bthing was required because this tradition is sacred, so to do it is must a person who understand about ''Doa" in that procession.

The ingredients that used in Peusijuk ritual was different according the activity of that Peusijuk. And there are the ingredients in Peusijuk:

1. Foliage or grass. It is symbolize of harmony, beauty, that was tied in one as coat of power
2. Rice. That is symbolize of the fertility, prosperity, and spirit
3. Water and flour. Symbolize of patience and tranquility
4. Glutinous rice ( Bu Lukat) as symbolize of brotherhood

The peusijuk implementation was do accrding the order like this:
First, by sow the rice (br euh padee). Second, sow the tepung tawar water. Third, editing the bu lukat on the right ears and finally is giving money (teumeutuk).
In generally, the procedurs of that was almost same in each area, but sometimes it is different according the activity that done in such peusijuk ritual. That it the information about peusijuk tradition in Aceh and it i still do until now. From villages to the cities. That is became a cultural heritage from Aceh which must we keep as cultural wealth of Indonesia
