Proses cukup sederhana daun padan berduri yang cukup dewasa yang lebar sekitar 5-7 cm dipotong. Kemudian dengan sisir khusus hingga rontok. Daun yang bebas duri kemudian dijemur 2 -3 hari hingga kering kemudian diproses agar menjadi tipis dan lemas.hingga siap penganyaman cukup sederhana.
