Socrates used to talk very little. Instead of telling the student this thing, they took him to the beach. When something had to be proven, then Socrates used to behave like this strange variety. By reaching the beach, they landed in the sea water without wearing their clothes.
Student understood that there is also a method of acquiring knowledge, so he also fell into deep sea water with clothing behind the Socrates. Now turn socrates and force the student's head to drown in water. Student felt that this is some baptism like a miracle in which knowledge is automatically acquired. He happily put his head in the water. But after a minute or so, when the student got a problem in breathing, he lifted his hand and put his head out of water.
With pride and anger, he said to Socrates - What were you doing? You killed me!
In reply, Socrates politely asked the student - when your head was under water, what was the most important thing that you wanted?
Student said in the same rage - and wanted to breathe!
Socrates replied with a smile - the person who was showing you the vitality to breathe water within the same water, the same day you will be able to acquire knowledge for yourself, then understand that you have attained the knowledge.
