Last week we had another lively show, it is always wonderful to catch up with friends like @thehive, @jackmiller, @katrina-ariel, @saffisara, @brisby, @thistle-rock, @shadowspub, @snook and of course @enginewitty.
I was also so thankful last week that the wonderful @novacadian joined in the voice chat, as a Prime of the Steem Blockchain (yes I have been watching far too many Transformers movies recently) his thoughts and input are invaluable - I learned so much and it was truly an honour to listen to him talk about the Steem Blockchain as someone who has been posting here since it was founded. I know everyone in the voice chat felt the same way, listening to everyone talking so passionately about the Steem Blockchain was amazing and I can only apologise that I dropped out 3 hours after the show started because my home internet cut out (to be fair it was 1am then so I went to bed!)
This week I return, a rebel without a clue (it's true - I have no idea what I am going to do on the show), but I have some posts of note to share. First off is a poll about Should we be able to disable comments on posts by @rebeccabe - now that is an interesting concept - I had not thought of it - have you? Join in the Poll - should we have the option to disable comments when we create a post?
And this week I was interested to read The Author by @theycallmedan - who consistently encourages the greatest debates on the Steem Blockchain - I really wish I could have a fraction of the insight he has. Read the post to learn more - it is an important topic and retaining our most amazing content creators has to be a priority - although I hasten to add ALL our content creators add value - and all your posts and comments are equally appreciated.
Our Witness @jackmiller highlighted the Broken Witness Voting System the Steem Blockchain Delegated Proof of Stake enables every single one of us to vote for the Witnesses that we feel add value to the Blockchain and also our own experience. But when we vote - it lasts forever, or at least until we choose to change it. But what happens when we stop being active, loose our keys or even pass away (https://news.bitcoin.com/canadian-exchange-insolvent-after-ceo-dies-with-keys-to-145m-of-cryptocurrency/) while proof of Stake works - is your stake in Steem being well utilised if you are still voting for Witnesses you voted 24 months ago - and worse if those Witnesses have since stopped running a Witness server? Is removing Witness votes after a set period of time, or after an account has been inactive for a period of time such a big difficulty? How does seeing long inactive Witnesses still ranked in the top 100 make you feel? Personally the fact the Steem Blockchain has over 150 active Witnesses is a positive view to the outside, we are an active and supported Blockchain going places. BUT - inactive and long shut down Witnesses still holding high ranking places is a negative view - it suggests as investors in Steem we do not care about who is voted in as Witness. I know that is not true, so do you all - but how does it look from the outside?

Very well written and edited. The effort is appreciated.
To be honest, I hadn't even thought about many of the Witness Vote problems you articulated. And, they're not trivial in their consequence. The blockchain needs some reform. Personally, I'd like to see a Committee set up whose sole purpose is to address the most pressing of the blockchain's Systemic Problems.
Speaking of Witnesses, @c0ff33a is a Witness and one of the "Good Guys." If you haven't used up all your Witness Votes, consider giving him your support.
