Image Source: I asked my daughter to draw me a picture for my fitness post. Yes, I was too tired to find an image or make one myself, so I outsourced the effort. The theme being Mum exercising. She quickly drew a bunch for me, but this was my favorite. Anyway, she’s already asking when I need another one. Hehe :)

Back to the post...

Today, I downloaded the early test version of @actifit. Yay! So thank you @mcfarhat and team for getting the iOS version to us iPhone users.

My initial impressions are very positive. It has a clean interface so I didn’t get confused. It also didn’t feel intrusive as far as privacy. It used the motion sensor on my phone and the steps started accumulating immediately. I didn’t need to do much to get started, it just worked.

The activity tracking was pretty accurate too. I tracked my work travels, and when I got home, I grabbed a head lamp and went for a light jog. I also tried it on the elliptical machine and was pleased that it worked really well!

It has me motivated. I was determined to use every opportunity to move today. Here are some examples:

I was sitting at the station reading Steemit when it occurred to me that I could be accumulating steps! So I got up and started pacing up and down the platform. And since I was at a few stations today, there was a lot of pacing...

I deliberately took the stairs rather than taking a lift today...

I even went to grab my own drink rather than ask my husband to grab it for me. No surprise he’s already liking how much more productive this app is making me...🤣🤣🤣

I’m thinking the 15k mark is the sticking point for me when considering a combination of incidental and planned exercise. As a working professional/mother/wife/lazy human, I’m exhausted today. But actifit added at least 1 hour more of physical activity that I would have otherwise made excuses not to do.

Thanks to @moderndayhippie for introducing this app to me.

@dbooster — thumbs up so far, you may need that phone replacement sooner!

I’m going to post now. I hope it’s just as easy to do!

YOU FINALLY GOT YOUR ACTIFIT APP! Fricken awesome 😎.. 16k, not bad for ur first day, you actually beat my step count yesterday, so thats a double win for u 😉 lol..
Taking stairs and going out of ur way for extra steps like taking the initiative to get ur own drink will really add up throughout the day! I am glad the app is motivating u like it motivates me too.. And now we can have friendly competitions to keep eachother motivated, im pretty stoked about that..
I love the drawing ur daughter did, its so cute and very creative..
Anyhow, glad u finally got to join in on all the awesomeness of @actifit! 🤗

It would be nice to add friends via the app and track and upvote their posts there. And if I can actually upload the my images via the app, I’d never have to log in to steemit! I can just contain my focus. Actifit has actually been good in that it now forces me to make choices in where to spend my time.

My daughter is thrilled she got some compliments. :)

There are a lot of cool features I would like to add to this app, I keep bothering mcfarhat with them LoL, I know they have a lot on their plates already but good ideas will keep this app moving in the right direction. I also have re-evaluated my time since I got the app, I realized how fricken lazy I was on a daily basis and now I am fixing that and appreciating life more because of it..

Ur daughter has some real tallent so if she keeps drawing maybe one day she can use it for a career.. i can't even draw stick figures so she is leaps and bounds ahead of me! LoL..

Take care ✌

I feel you get where I’m at. This is very similar for me. I was looking for a new focus when I encountered your actifit post. I noticed them before, but disliked their formatting. It wasn’t until you made an effort to make yours look nice did I really take interest. Before that, I was weary and sick of the platform. Don’t get me wrong, I love and believe in it, but I was looking for new inspiration. My energy felt depleted. So these days I’m really trying to contain where I spend my time. It’s still hard to find that balance. But actifit is a priority in my steemit time. Less time online so we can work on our fitness is a good thing. I’m also posting more, which while hard, is a positive outcome... :)

Thanks for sharing a review of this app with everyone in PYPT! It sounds awesome! 😊

Thanks for dropping in kittygirl. I hope you find the time to try it. :)

I might need to get in on this!

Okay, let me hassle you in DM later on how to get you started. ❤️ Need to do time sheets, so really can’t be silly on the channel atm.

I go through life trying to avoid exercise. Can you also play games on the app?

Hey profane, it’ll be a good way to still avoid exercise...

You just look at the app and see, ‘Oh wow, I’ve done over 1000 steps avoiding exercise! If I keep carrying my phone around, avoiding exercise as I go about my day, I’ll be at 10k of steps. I just need to walk that extra distance to the crate. BUT! If I take the longer path, I’d be getting more Actifit steps...avoiding exercise...”

That can be your game? So maybe the answer is yes? 😛

It’s a good app to keep you moving, but you don’t need to call it exercise if it’s not your thing.

What kind of witchery is this?

I like this drawing. Looks like you chilling down the rode, snapping your fingers to some beat heard only by cool cats like yourself and whistling along. I picture the buildings also dancing like some early 20s animation.

Er...anyway, sounds great! I want this app. Wow, and that is a lot of steps. Good show! Like I said, I was around 10k when I did have a phone that tracked me. I will have to up my game.

Yeah, my twins are falling over themselves trying to get their drawings onto mum’s blog, lol
This daughter will make a great cartoonist/comic artists, she’s actually very talented creatively. Ideas whether it be stories, drawing or even poetry sparks effortlessly with her. I’m thinking of letting them have their own account, or they can post on my behalf. I am so lazy posting-wise, my girls would do a better job.

And I got over 21k on my latest! Yippeee! I really am so cool...

maybe not...

Get the phone, get the app, I need more people to beat to validate my awesomeness...

maybe not...

😛

Great picture by your daughter @linnyplant.

Hope the app continues to keep you motivated. 😁

Thank you, Gillian. I went over to your blog, I don’t think I found an actifit report. I hope you are participating too!

I am @linnyplant but I use a different account as I don't think the people following me on my main account are particularly interested in knowing how many steps I've done each day. 😁

I post them on @artysteps.

I’m in two minds of opening an alt account for this. I’m not a dedicated poster, so actifit forces me to post. I’m also keen to have a diverse group of connections. :)

you might as well sign up for a new account while you make up your mind @linnyplant. It took me tree weeks to get mine! 😂

Happy to be reading your first report .. Fantastic !!
Glad to learn actifit makes everyone happy, including your husband who no longer needs to get your water lol
.. and your daughter has some cool drawing skills !

Thank you, mcfarhat! And thanks for all your help in answering my questions. You made one little girl very pleased with your compliments of her drawings!

Congrats! You just reached the top level milestone via using Actifit fitness tracker and provided Proof of Activity!
You accordingly gained 100 Actifit tokens for attaining 16014 steps!
You also received an 4.50% upvote via @actifit account.
