Hello everyone π»,
Happy Sunday π and a very warm welcome to my report. It's the first Sunday of July and as always a day of reflection and gratitudeπ―. Am counting my blessings and taking one day at a time, hope you are tooπΉ.
Let's quickly break down this day and also take a look at some of the trending stories that caught my eye π.
Thank you for being here and let's take it awayπ¨.
So this morning there was no walk as the annoying drizzling π§οΈ kept me indoorsπΏ. It was drizzling lightly then rained a bit heavily and I decided to just get my stretching indoors.
Later got on with some house chores and then the trending stories of the day.
Later on in the afternoon the weather cleared up and I was able to take a trip to north London. That's the home of Tottenham Hotspur team stadium. Haven't been there before so it was a first.
We walked around the stadium for the sunset π walk, then headed back home calling it a day.
The rain caught us, but luckily we had umbrellasπΉ.
So now let's take a look at some of the trending stories.
In the UK, the new govt has hit the ground running, PM Keir Starmer called allies including the US.
He later stopped by Scotland as he starts a four nation tour.
Meanwhile, he has sent his foreign Minister, David Lammy on a working tour of Europe, reassuring allies that things are ok.
France trending as exit polls show left wing alliance to be in the lead after today's election. The dreaded far right is in third placeπΉ.
It's gonna be a hung parliament as no political party has a clear majority to form govt. Political shenanigans πΉ brewing. Let's wait and see how it unfolds.
In Gaza the horror scene continued with 54 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes πΏ. Israel has ordered hundreds of people to leave Gaza city area as more crazy airstrikes are planned for that areaπ.
Meanwhile in Israel, thousands gathered in Tel Aviv to pressure the govt to do more to release captives being held in Gaza.
Israel is sending officials to Doha Qatar next week as negotiations with Hamas continue. Let's hope for a positive responseπ―.
Across the pond in the US, president Biden campaigned in Pennsylvania even as pressure mounts on him to step downπ.
He insists that he won't step down brushing off talks of being too old and unfit for officeπΉ.
Finally, let's get sporty, Lewis Hamilton has won the British grand prix for a record 9th timeπ. Ending a three year winless streak.
In Copa America, Brazil knocked out after penalty shoot loss to Uruguayπ. Colombia beat Panama to set a place for themselves in the last four.
So now we have Argentina vs Canada and then Columbia vs Uruguay. May the best teams winπ―.
We will be looking out for that one and also the Euro in Germany as the week progresses.
So that's it from me for today, get back here Monday. Wishing you all a lovely new week ahead. Stay safe, take care and toodles β€οΈ Hakuna Matata π―π»
