What is a solo ad ?

On my last post, I talked about affiliate marketing and how to sell affiliate products on your own website.
But how can you sell these affiliate products if you don't have a website?

There some free methods for you to try, but I will talk about them in the next blog post.
Now I want to tell you something about Solo Ads.

What is a solo ad and most importantly how can you use solo ads to drive more sales to your products and to your services online?

A solo ad is whenever you are paying to advertise a product or service through someone else's email list.

For example; there might be someone who has a blog about Making Money Online related topics. On their website, they have a sign-up form where people can subscribe to their email list. Let's say that the person who blogs about Making Money Online has managed to generate two or three thousand people on their email list. So they have two or three thousand names and email addresses of people who are interested in Making Money Online.
If they were to send out an email to those people advertising your product or service in return for a fee then that is essentially a solo ad.

Because that person has hopefully been providing those two or three thousand people with a lot of value in the past, sending them valuable emails in the form of blog articles or maybe even videos, they are likely to have a really good relationship with the thousands of people that they have on their email list.
And as a result, you're likely to get very good results, sales or sign-ups if you actually advertise your products or your services by using that persons database.

I'm going to show you one method that you can use to find solo ad opportunities to help you market your products or your services. This is just one method and I may be doing some more methods on solo ads and how you can leverage solo ads. So make sure you subscribe to my blog so you don't miss those.

Let's just say you have a pet product and you're trying to use solo ads to increase sales.
You can use Google and type in "advertise on a pet blog"
The reason why you type this in is that you are trying to find someone who has a pet blog and has followers and subscribers who are interested in pet products and who may be interested in your pet product.
Whenever you find a blog and you want to advertise on that person's blog always check how many email subscribers they have and also how many Facebook followers, Twitter followers, Instagram etc. they have.
That will give you a good indication of whether or not it's worth getting a solo ad from this particular provider.

If you think this person is right for you, send them an email or contact this particular person or company and ask them how much it would cost to send to send out an email to their 2,000 plus subscribers.
Sometimes what they do is actually send the email out on your behalf.

One of the most effective emails you could send out to these 2,000 people is not just "go and buy my product" but it's actually an email that gives something of value, give something away for free.
For example, give away a free report on "how to make sure that your pet is always healthy" and when they click the link in the email they head over to your landing page where they have to enter their name and email address to get access to this free report.
That way you have those people on your own email list now and then you can market your products to them.

Hopefully, you can see that this technique is a great way to sell your products and services, but also build up your own email list of people who are interested in your particular niche.

Obviously, if you're selling pet-related products you wouldn't go to a business blog. You want to narrow it down as much as you can so you're actually emailing out to people who are specifically your target group.

I hope you now understand what solo ads actually are and you now have a method of which you can go and implement and leverage the use of solo ads to help you sell more products and build your own database at the same time.

On my next blog post, I will tell you some other Solo Ads strategies.
