Give me the wisdom and knowledge to lead them properly, for who could possibly govern this great people of yours. Chronicles 1:10
If God were to grant you one wish in life, what would you ask for? In this verse, Solomon had the opportunity to be selfish and ask for wealth, fame, revenge, anything. Yet he asked for none of those things, instead he asked for wisdom to be a good leader. Solomon recognized the responsibilities and blessings God had gifted him and asked for God to help him be a wise steward of those blessings. God recognized this selfless act and then rewarded Solomon by granting him wealth and fame. Are you petitioning the Lord to equip you to be a good leader amongst your friends, children, coworkers, and family because of the blessings you have.Because of what Solomon ask, God now said to Solomon, because your greatest desire is to help your people, and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame, or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern my people.I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future.Now brethren, the Lord expert us to ask things that will project him not the other way round.That is why the bible tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all other things shall be added unto us. Therefore, Solomon seek the kingdom first and all other things was added unto him.Never let your evil desires come into relation with the things of God. When you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong, you want only what will give you pleasure.Think wise and remember to put God first in all what you do.
May the Lord strengthen you and give you the gift of wisdom in asking the right things from the Lord in Jesus name.Amen
