We were driving from Oregon down to California by the coast to see this weird place in MacKerricher State Park near Fort Bragg. When I first heard about glass beach, I couldn't believe something like that is even possible.
The magical scenery of beach filled with sea glass was created from years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part of the town. We were impressed and disappointed at the same time.
Disappointed by the fact that it is not as beautiful as on the pictures and it still looks like a place full of garbage. But when we start playing with glass pieces we couldn't stop! It is worth stopping if you are driving by, but it shouldn't be your primary destination.
Incredible how nature can convert trash into something spectacular...
You are brave walking barefoot... I would be worried for the odd sharp piece :-)
