Overview
Aergo is enterprise-oriented hybrid 4th generational blockchain aiming to provide blockchain-based solutions to corporations, firms, and businesses. The project is built upon Coinstack - blockchain product developed by Blocko - the global provider of blockchain-related resources. Coinstack was developing since 2014 and since that time was successfully implemented to more than 25 companies around the world.
Aergo has a hybrid blockchain structure called Aergo Chain - it combines the public permissionless chain with private side-chains. Main blockchain reaching consensus through the deterministic Delegated Proof of Stake with a total of 23 stakeholders responsible for building new blocks. Private chains (sidechains) could operate other consensus models and reach incredible transactions throughput.
To interoperate with the blockchain, Aergo devs. developed interface called Aergo Hub. Hub is operating similarly to GitHub allowing developers to build the project in private or public repositories, use Microservices, distributed servers, and Smart Oracles.
Aergo Marketplace serves as a real marketplace of computing resources like CPU, Storage, Algorithms, etc.
But the real breakthrough of Aergo is SQL-programmed smart-contracts.
Team
The Project is running by Aergo Board which includes three leaders: Phil Zamani, Hun Young Park, and Roderik van der Graaf.
Phil Zamani is the CEO of the project, he’s quite active with conferences and during interviews with crypto-bloggers. He also has 20+ years of experience in open source projects and cloud systems. Phil impressed youtube-bloggers with the knowledge of Aergo, not all the CEOs have such understanding of the crypto sphere.
Hun Young Park has 12 years of experience in Relational DBMS and distributed systems.
Roderik van der Graaf spent 13 years trading derivatives at Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Rabobank, Bear Stearns, LIM Advisors, and All Options. Also, he has an experience (7 years) of private equity/venture capital at Caldera Pacific and KCP Capital.
During the current period of time, Aergo is actively hiring developers from all over the world with the aim to build development offices in Germany, UK, and North America. The team doubled in size during the previous months.
Roadmap
According to the roadmap published on the site, the project is closing the second-development phase. By the end of 2018 Q3, Aergo chain beta will be developed with distributed version control. Test Net will be presented by the end of the year and Main Net - by the end of 2019 Q1.
Token
Aergo project has a native utility token called AERGO, which serves as a medium of exchange within the platform. The token is used for running smart-contracts, operating a node by large stakeholders, purchasing computing resources in Aergo Market and paying for Blocko’s support of the project.
General information
General information about the token:
Token type: ERC-20 (will be swapped to native token after the Main Net launch).
Total amount: 500,000,000
Reserved for Token Sale: 150,000,000
Reserved for Community Incentives: 150,000,000
Reserve tokens: 125,000,000
Advisor and Backer Tokens: 50,000,000
Employee and Team Tokens: 25,000,000
Sales
As stated above, 150,000,000 tokens were available for 2 phases of sale: private sale and public sale. During the private sale, Aergo met an incredible demand from investors. According to the official announcement, the investor’s interest was 20 times higher than the total hard cap of the sale. In total, 28,832,654$ were raised during the private sale.
The team decided to close the public-sale stage without organizing any ICO and distribute tokens which left after the private sale to the community. This process was called “Token Distribution Event”, shortly - TDE.
Additional details of TDE will be described in the next paragraph
Participation in TDE
In the TDE campaign, 3275 community members will be rewarded between 250$ and 2000$ in Aergo tokens. TDE is a bit different from any bounty and airdrop campaign. It’s similar to “proof-of-love” or “proof-of-care” programs launched by other projects before. Generally, every participant must show understanding of the project in any suitable form: write an article about Aergo, share and comment Aergo’s existing articles, facilitate discussions on the official channels, create a thread on coding forum, etc.
Rather than giving tests or running bounty campaigns, Aergo decided to give the opportunity for the community to contribute to the project in any suitable way.
From 1th to 7th of October each participant will have to submit a form with the links to the best content contributions (3) and community contributions (3) and give a write (200-character) an essay to show the understanding of the project.
After the 7th of October, the team will select winners and send them emails with the further instructions about kyc.
