Technology is great. But whenever I see toddlers being entertained with tech devices constantly, I worry. As a former teacher, I know that more and more kids enter the classroom expecting to be entertained or amused like what iPads or game consoles do. So what can we do? Well, duh, spend quality time with your kids. Spark their imagination. For example, you can get these finger puppets and blank writing journal bundles. Each finger puppet has a double so you can:
- pick one and let your toddle give you the matching puppet
- name it and let your baby say what the name of the puppet is
- count all of them or count by 2's
- let your Pre-K draw or trace the puppet
- let your kid write simple sentences
