The new chapter of one of players ' most popular real-time strategic series is not present at E3 2019 and it wasn't mentioned by Microsoft during its Xbox Conference, but very thick with games. But Age of Empires IV has been an official project since GamesCom 2017, when it was announced that it would manage Relic Entertainment, the RTS software company author of Homeworld, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and Heroes Company.

"We're going to speak about it later in the year," Phil Spencer, Xbox manager who led the Microsoft Theater event, pledged. "Relic is a great studio and is making remarkable progress on the game. One thing I loved about the show we did on Sunday was the games we didn't show. We had 60 games, 14 first games and 12 next year. But why weren't there the Initiative, Playground Games and Turn 10? And Age of Empires 4?" "We're glad to have such a complete show.
"We want to make sure we're doing it in the correct manner. I can say we've been extremely impressed with Relic's skills. They're very near to us because they're based in Vancouver and we understand how they function. At the same moment we're learning a lot from the audit of what we're doing on Age of Empires 1 and 2.

In other words, talking about Age of Empires 4 is still too early, which is not likely to be published this year or next year's first portion. On the other side, at E3, as Spencer says, Microsoft introduced Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, a 4 K review of what is still deemed to be one of the greatest RTS ever and will be published in 2019. Yes, this is the sequel to the Age of Empires 1 Definitive Edition that we have recently tested. Remember that the setting is the primary distinction between the first two Ages of Empires: between the stone age and the first iron age, and the second in the Middle Ages. The ancient Ensemble studio wanted to be precise first of all in terms of historical reconstruction with these games.

This is not a straightforward upscaling of 4 K, but a general re-examination of the game with fresh balances, more fluidity, more thorough animations, and more general response. With four fresh cultures, namely the Cumans, Lithuanians, Bulgarians and Tatars, a fresh campaign will be called "The Last Khans." And it will revisit the spectator mode. Microsoft showed Age of Empires 2 at the Xbox Conference with the following trailer: Definitive Edition.
