So, here is the comment I was writing before I was blocked for being Agnostic by someone I know who is a Christian. It doesn't bother me much, because he also would post about his, yes, HIS anti-abortion views. Despite my instinctual rage and fury regarding a topic such as this, I let it be. I'll write about it later.
"To me god is just this term to encapsulate something I don't know the answer to yet. It's like saying "I don't know", which is what agnosticism basically is. I take most religious text as metaphors and representations of different forms of logic. These forms of logic were given hegemony for a great deal of time, which I no longer consent to. I don't have crystalized intelligence and never will, so once again, agnosticism is for me, because I have very fluid intelligence (which is why it's very easy for me to freestyle).
Agnosticism can be spiritual in a sense, but these answers, to me, might be explained through epiphenomenon, or through the breaking down of terms like collective consciousness or collective unconscious. It is possible to do and I feel that the boundaries gained through these forms of logic are more productive. I view most religions as a hostile form of manipulation, held together by those in power who were controlling the masses. Christianity also does more to protect pedophiles than those that they victimize.
Religion, just like everything in life, is subject to criticism. Managing the terror associated with the fear of death can be done without strict adherence to a religion. Yes, many different religions exist, many different interpretations of 'god' with many different takes on 'the word', but the truth that we are missing out on, half the time, is all the people who were silenced as they spoke out throughout history. These people are only mere speculation, abstractions, myths and legends at most.
There are a great number of sources to extract viable information from that exist outside of the Catholic religious text and the variants of Christianity. Also, the Christian religion, to me, seems more like a reaction to the environment, like most other works. The way it was written was also different. The reader becomes the subject being spoken to - the vague 'you'. We do not know who this 'you' is, but it certainly wasn't me. I don't need to internalize that 'you' and create an acceptable dissonance. I can just take it as a belief system that exists, just as others do. They all exist simultaneously.
I could write a novel about this."
