Treat your skin with care by making simple and organic skincare products at home. Buy ingredients to make organic skin products in health food stores, health food markets or online. Only choose products marked "organic" or "certified organic". These products were produced using sustainable agricultural practices without the addition of pesticides, herbicides or synthetic chemicals. Certified organic producers have passed an independent government or non-profit organizational exam to validate their cropping practices
FACIAL SCRUB
Scouring the skin with a slightly abrasive material removes dead skin cells and leaves a pleasant and smooth appearance. Two popular ingredients for homemade scrubs are oatmeal and sugar. If you use oatmeal, do it through a food processor to make a fine powder first. Use a scrub that consists entirely of organic oatmeal or sugar or consists of equal parts of these main ingredients. Add enough organic aloe vera gel or distilled water to the dry ingredients to make a paste.
Massage the paste on your dry skin with your hands or a vegetable sponge, being careful not to touch your eyes. After gently applying the paste to your face in a circular motion, rinse with warm water.
NIGHT CREAM
Creams and lotions organic homemade called a process called emulsifying using oil and mixing a liquid. Choose from organic grape seeds, almonds, jojoba or coconut oil. You need 1 cup. The liquid may be derived from organic flavored water, such as rose water, distilled water or aloe vera gel. Use any combination to add 1 cup. Also use about 2 to 3 tablespoons. Beeswax pills. Verify that all ingredients are labeled with organic or certified organic labels.
Heat the oils and beeswax until they are warm and the wax melts. Use a blender that runs at high speed to mix the liquid and the essential oil. Add the liquid to the blender. With mixer running, slowly distilled oil and beeswax over the top of the mixer. If the mixer produces a choking sound and the mixture turns white, you have successfully created an organic night cream. After cooling, pour the mixture into glasses.
BODY LOTION
Make homemade and organic skin lotions in the same way as night cream, but add 1/3 to 1/2 more water to create the consistency of a lotion. To improve the lotion with a pleasant aroma, add 10 to 20 drops of a substantial organic oil such as absolute rose, lavender or lemon. Add the essential oil to the water; Do not heat it with other oils.
SOAP BALLS
Making homemade soap balls provides a fun project for kids and the result can provide a personal gift if placed in a box with a pretty ribbon. Start with unscented bar-shaped organic soap. Use a cheese grater to rub two pieces of fine filament soap into a container. Add dried rose leaves or lavender flowers. Add five to 10 drops of organic essential oil and about 1/4 cup of distilled water. Mix and roll to balls. Let the balls dry for at least two days before storing them.
