Ahsan Manzil ...

Located in Sadarghat, Islampur, Kumartuli area along the banks of Buriganga river. In the middle of the eighteenth century, Sheikh Inayetullah Ahsan built a promode building named Rangmahal in present day place of Manzill. Later, they came to the hands of Nawab Abdul Gani. Nawab Abdul Gani rebuilt the building, the construction started in 1859 and ended in 1872. He kept the name "Ahsan Manzil" in the name of his son Khwaja Ahsan Ullah. After this Nawab Ahsan Ullah lived in this house. The Manzil is divided into two parts, "Rang Mahal" and "Indramahal". There are many lovely dome on top of the palace. Currently it is a museum; Every day thousands of visitors visit the museum. From Saturn to Mercury, from 10:30 a.m. to 4pm, and Friday afternoon from 3:30 pm to 6pm it is open to the general public. Ahsan Manzil was closed on Thursday and other public holidays.
