I personally have a different taste in music though some of the riffs in this got me going but the real gem of this video is the visual effects. The video used a combination of variations of the Deep Dream algorithm, a nueral network that 'perceives' data and makes art by using fractals and recognizing patterns that were pre-programmed and also learned. Learning, after all, is basically just recognizing patterns and applying them. Whether the AI did a good job or not is up to you. I think we all are a little overwhelmed by it and awe at its complexity but I don't think its creative. The day creativity can be programmed is the day humans loose the war they started.
While this isn't quite my taste in music either, I do aspire to incorporate effects like these in my art with the help of neural networks.
I think with the rise of AI my approach will be to cooperate or incorporate it in ways that let us both work to our strengths.
I agree. Of course, what is art is completely relative to the observer but I definitely agree with you that nueral networks should only be a tool for an artist and nothing else.
