Tenqido, Aikido, Judo, Taichi, and Qigong

Tenqido is most definitely a form of Qigong. Qigong means Life Energy Cultivation. Qigong involves deep breathing and gentle stretching.

Tenqido is a martial art that is not always a martial art. Tenqido is always a form of Qigong. Qigong by itself is not a martial art. Taichi is a martial art and a form of Qigong. Aikido definitely involves some Qigong, effectively.

Judo and Aikido involve throwing people. Judo throws often involve grabbing clothing or controlling torsos and then throwing people. Aikido often involves using wrist and arm locks to throw people. Both Judo and Aikido involve taking the balance of those that you throw. In practice throws should be gentle enough so as to not cause injury. Aspects of this can be part of Tenqido.

Taichi involves forms of slow movements that emulate combat. Taichi is quite low impact, especially compared to Aikido and Judo. Maintaining health in natural ways is part of Tenqido. Deep breathing and gentle exercise can obviously be part of good health. It is common knowledge that being sedentary and obese is not good for health. Smoking cigarettes is not good for health, so not smoking cigarettes is part of Tenqido.

Tenqido involves doing that which is conducive to health and to the prosperity of all. So eat healthy foods. Either neither too much nor too little. Lift weights potentially, or maybe try doing bodyweight exercises. Consult a qualified medical professional to know your medical and health limitations. Do not exceed or ignore these limitations, since doing so may put your health at risk.

Breathe deeply. Maintain good posture. Stretch gently and thoroughly sometime perhaps. Go for a walk. Walks can be part of Tenqido.

If you are a business owner, you may likely operate it as a benefit corporation, or at least eventually a benefit corporation. Engaging business in ways that are authentically ethical is part of Tenqido. Read the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Tenqido encompasses all of life, and earning sufficient financial resources is part of life. There are philosophies behind Judo and Aikido. There are developing philosophies related to Tenqido.

Anyone can practice Tenqido. Anyone can be a Tenqidoka. Read the book The Art of Peace by the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba. Tenqido is about education. Tenqido starts with improving one’s own self in anyway that you deem best. Read the book Mind Over Muscle by the founder of Judo, Jigoro Kano. Improving one’s own self leads to the improvement of society as a whole. If each person does what is possible to improve one’s own self, while attempting to enrich both one’s own life, and the lives of others, then society will improve. By practicing Aikido, Judo, Taichi, and/or Qigong, you will developing your understanding for Tenqido. Yoga can help to accomplish this too. Attempt to understand what Tenqido is, what it is meant to be, and what it can become.
