On the Topic of this Week...
It is no news that we live in a world were everything is characterized as being 'fast'. People want to drive fast cars, have fast internet speed, watch fast and furious and also, eat fast foods. Unfortunately, fast foods are culprit to some health misnomer such as Obesity, bulimia nervosa( an eating disorder marked by bingeing or forced vomiting to avoid weight gain), anorexia nervous etc
So, is maintaining a healthy weight tied to our diet or is there something more to it?! We love to hear from you all what you think, not forgetting your comments in advises and shared experiences could be answering someone's question or disloging thier confusion about weight loss.
We are expecting your candid opinions on this topic!

in my experience there is no fast diet.
people are hard pressed for fast food, and junk food (including juices with lots of sugar)
Fast diets are not healthy and are not effective.
by my experience diet must be a combination of reduced food, high quality and healthy food and exercise.
Also, it is very important to eat everything (even sweets and junk food).
The reason for this is that if a person will consume a small cube of chocolate (because of desire) once a week, there will be no problems and the person will satisfy cravings for sweets.
if the person do not do so it will came a moment when the person will eat too sweet and that would be a big problem.

This is a kind of difficult issue though.
Basically when people see a 'fat' person they'll just assume they eat too much and vice versa but sometimes diet is not the issue. Very true, our diet plays a very important role in our health and contributing to weight gain and loss but in my case I don't think this is.
Personally, I hardly eat especially when I return from school to the house but still I gain weight and Yea I'm very selective when it comes to food so I attribute my weight gain to other things than diet such as peace of mind, being around loved ones and other fun things... Basically remaining happy. And before you know it, I'm up again and gaining so much weight that my parent are just always surprised because they know I hardly eat food and don't take junks. Almost on a daily they even preach to me about the importance of eating healthy and not skipping meals but other times they are like 'let's just leave her... It doesn't show on her body Afterall'.. Lol
So my point is, diet has an effect on weight loss but In my case, it is not.
But in most cases diet have a great effect on weight loss as some diet have low calories level which reduces the amount of carbs stored in our body as fat and as such it's recommended that if one is trying to lose weight, checking what they eat together with other physical activities is important. Eating healthy food is recommended and eating junks from fast food because we don't have time to make good meals should be avoided.

Is maintaining a healthy weight tied to our diet or is there something more to it?!
Diet is not the sole factor for maintaining healthy weight but it is the one of the most important factors in maintaining healthy weight.
Obesity has been considered to be the direct result of a sedentary lifestyle plus chronic ingestion of excess calories. Although these factors are undoubtedly the principal cause in many cases, as much as 40–70% of obesity may be explained by genetic influences.
Twin studies demonstrate substantial genetic influences on BMI with little influence from the childhood environment. Five genes affecting control of appetite have been identified in mice. Mutations of each gene result in obesity, and each has a human homolog. One gene codes for a protein expressed by adipose tissue—leptin—and another for the leptin receptor in the brain. The other three genes affect brain pathways downstream from the leptin receptor. Numerous other candidate genes for human obesity have been identified. Only a small percentage (4–6%) of human obesity is thought to be due to single gene mutations. Most human obesity undoubtedly develops from the interactions of multiple genes, environmental factors, and behavior.
The rapid increase in obesity in the last several decades clearly points to a major role of environmental factors in the development of obesity.
Cross-sectional studies associate obesity with changes in gut flora. It is unknown whether altered gut flora contributes to the development of obesity or whether obesity changes the gut flora.
Most successful programs employ a multidisciplinary
approach to weight loss, with hypocaloric diets, behavior modification to change eating behavior, aerobic exercise, and social support

Thanks @air-clinic for this important topic of discussion. I have a genetic tendency to grow really fat and struggled with weight gain over the years. I have however learnt a few cogent things by which I now live and maintain a relatively healthy body weight that I'm comfortable with.
A healthy weight is directly proportionate to a healthy lifestyle. Hit and run diets may show fantastic results in the immediate, but in the long run, our bodies gain back the weight as soon as we relax on the diet. A healthy lifestyle is a deliberate and consistent one; i.e. one can decide to cut down on sugars, watch out for calories in foods, reduce one's intake of carbs and consciously increasing water intake.
Exercise is very important to maintain a healthy weight and it doesn't have to be rigorous although that is great for physical fitness. It can be as simple as walking 500 steps daily and getting up to stretch and squat every once in a while.Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
