Foods for the prevention of osteoporosis

This is a lovely post. It makes me nostalgic because a few weeks ago, we had a presentation on osteoporosis and Osteomalacia in my orthopaedic class. Osteoporosis is simply a metabolic bone disease that causes bones to be porous and susceptible to fracture. The most important keys to avoiding bone diseases is to have a healthy diet and exercise regularly. However some of the risk factors such as sex and genetics are non modifiable. In that case, when a person is naturally predisposed to osteoporosis or has been diagnosed with it, it is important that the person gets properly educated on the condition to avoid fractures, spinal deformities and other complications that may arise.
