WHAT IS OBESITY?
Obesity is gotten from the Latin word “obesitas” which means plump, this is define as the complex disorder involving an excessive amount of body fat. It isn't just about the outward appearance but this disease increases high risk of diseases and also increases health problems e.g heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and other related disease. When you are obese you have high chance of having health problem relating to your weight.
Body mass index (BMI): this method is widely used for calculating height and weight and it has the high range of measuring the obese.
Obesity increases the rate of you having other diseases like
• Type 2 disease
• Cardiovascular disease
• Depression
• Osteoarthritis
• Different types of cancer obstructive sleep apnea
Obesity is genrally caused by the intake of excessive food, genetic susceptibility and lack of exercise and other physical activities.
Causes of obesity
The major causes of obesity is when you consume too much of food that has energy, fat and sugar, which is not burn through physical exercise. This energy that is been taking is then stored into the body as fat, these are few things that could cause obesity or overweight
Poor diet:- obesity is gradually stored into the body, it does not happen overnight, it grows inside of the body gradually as a result of insufficient or poor diet such as;
• Eating fast food
• Drinking too many sugary drinks
• Eating too much than expected
• Drinking too much of alcohol
Lack of physical activity:- this is a very important factor that causes obesity. Most people tends to eat lots of energy giving food but they do not get their self-involve in any physical activity that could help them burn the energy, that later convert into the body as fat. All they do is to sit on the desk, riding in cars and relaxing and watching TV.
Genetics: - most people believe that there is no need for them to burn fat or loss weight because of their family traits to be big or its runs in their genes to be big.
Effect of overweight or obesity on the body
When you are obese you have high risk of having high blood pressure. Then the high blood pressure increases your chances of having stroke, which then comes along with other diseases that are linked to stroke which are high blood sugar, high cholesterol and heart disease. Other dieases you should also except are
• Type 2 diabetes
• Gallbladder disease
• Osteoarthritis
• Erectile dysfunction
• Sexual health issue
• Breathing disorder
• Cancer
• Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
• Gynecological problems
• Stroke
How to prevent obesity
There is no cure or solution to obesity but you can prevent it by doing this following things
• Stay healthy
• Measure your weight regularly
• Only eat when you are hungry
• Physical activities
• Community efforts
• Drink water always
Treatment for obesity
Though there is no cure for obesity but you can do all this listed below to stay healthy and safe
• Gastric bypass
• Surgery (bariatric surgery)
• Prescription diet
• Regular exercise
• Modified diet
• Counseling or visiting a therapy

Obesity must be very uncomfortable for the people who are suffering it, and in some countries this problem is more common than normal.
If people simply decided to start heating healthy, and adopt a diet, they wouldn't be suffering this, so I think a lack of discipline is also a problem with obese people.
