I’ve been hosting in Bangalore for the past two years now and it’s been a phenomenal experience. I got to meet people from all around the world and learned invaluable lessons from them. I have seen the change within myself while hosting for guests from India and around the world. I have become more self aware and I have a greater appreciation for the small things in life. Not only have I learned about life, but it has helped me to become an entrepreneur in a way.
I’ve started a small export business after hosting for a guest from South Korea. I’ve learned about bitcoin mining after meeting a fellow miner and traveler from South England. I’ve started to embrace Buddhism and started chanting off late after learning about it through a guest from London. I’ve meditated with a guest from Mallorca, Spain and learned invaluable lessons from him. I’ve learned more about the culture of Israel after hosting for a Israeli guest. I’ve learned a bit of dutch and german after hosting a dutch guest. I’ve incorporated some habits of a guest from the US (Indian-american) who used to wake up everyday morning around 4am and read a book till 7 am. I’ve learned more about Singapore. I’ve learned about Isha foundation and it’s great achievements in India.
But what I really got out of all these experiences, is how I changed as a person and how I started treating the people around me in a more humble manner. And without my parents help, none of this would’ve ever happened. From mom’s healthy cooking for the guests to dad looking out if there were any problems.
All in all, it’s been the best and I look forward to more hosting experiences. I hope you start hosting too. IT WILL DEFINITELY CHANGE YOUR WORLD VIEW (sorry about the shouting CAPS), it definitely has changed mine.
