I Used to Do It

for a few years there. I do have to admit, Johnny Appleseed was a great inspiration... there's some assembly required. LOL

What to Buy

  • One Gallon Glass Jug of Organic Apple Juice
  • One Packet of Bread Yeast
  • One Small Package of Raisins

Assembly

  • Pour out a glass of apple juice and taste it's refreshing flavor and goodness
  • Dump in a handful of raisins
  • Dump in a packet of bread yeast
  • Shake and cap the jar

Burping

  • Each day, open the cap slowly to release the pressure
  • Re-Cap and GENTLY give it a shake, then re-release the pressure
  • Cap tightly till tomorrow

Drinking

When the fizz each day is nearly gone, it should be ready to drink. Pour out a sip and check for yourself.

Temps between 68F and 70F

Produce the cleanest and best tasting alcohol. Higher temps create more fusil oils (think hangover stuff) while lower temps can slow down or stop the fermentation process. :)

Variations

Use different juices, as long as they're free of preservatives, add different fruit. You can even do this with a tomato juice and other vegetable juices. (Be prepared for different flavors. lol)

This can be done with simple sugar and water

the result is pretty gnarlly though. At least put in a handful of raisins. :D

You're All Aware

Johnny planted so many apple trees to support his alcohol fixation, right? lol
