Huxley and the Brave New World.

I’ve probably listened to this excellent 1958 Mike Wallace interview with Aldous Huxley 4 or 5 times, over the course of my life - and each time, I recall thinking how incredibly ahead of his time he always was. After all, if you remember, he published “Brave New World” in 1932!

We can assume he acquired many valuable insights owing to his family’s inclusion among the world’s ruling elites... which makes its presence felt in his introductory remarks on the dangers of overpopulation… a perennial elite fixation.

But all that aside, his various “fears“ for our democracy’s future, have become, since the last time I listened to this... ALL too true… which suggests that today in 2020, we have finally manifested those many “projections” Huxley made plain in this interview.

If ever anyone saw into the future with clarity and precision, it was Aldous Huxley.

Thanks for the warning Aldous. Sorry we couldn’t have acted on your warnings sooner... and before the whip came down.

It would seem that we were all having just too much fun, living off all the credit & toys that imperial wars provided even the least of us... at least it did until the bill suddenly came due… which I think is what is now happening and has been happening all this year... ever since the Ides of (Covidian) March.
