While many cryptocoins (the truly useful ones) are true assets, they don't yet hold value until they are widely used, and trading at high volume. AB part of a Monero pump and dump scheme? No, the people who claim such things either don't understand how the markets work, or they are just spreading garbage info.

Pump and dump schemes are when an entity or entities buys up a bunch only for the purpose of selling it off to force the price down.

When Markets like AB, as well as cryptocoin casinos adopt a new coin into use, they increase the trading value of that coin significantly. Consider that ever since Silk Road and other markets adopted Bitcoin, its price has done nothing but rise dramatically over the long term ever since. Same as with Monero being used at AB. There will always be short term fluctuations, but any coin that is getting traded at higher and higher volume, will always increase in price long term.
