What is Gemstra?
Gemstra is a decentralized blockchain-integrated ecosystem which liberates today's social selling economy, with the goal of building a technological protocol for social selling that opens the industry to everyone in retail. Why Does Gemstra Need Blockchain?
The ASTRA platform democratizes social selling by leveraging blockchain. Actors in Gemstra’s ecosystem (Sellers, Retailers [“Merchants”], and Brands) should cooperate equitably. Previously, Sellers’ data was owned and locked by captive companies that dominated the social selling landscape. Gemstra’s vision was to decentralize the model by deleveraging risk to Sellers. The decentralized architecture of blockchain allows us to democratize data on a public ledger that promotes equity and fairness for social selling. Brands can keep a portable catalog stored on the blockchain and control which Merchants have access to their catalog. Merchants host software for Brands and Sellers by integrating existing systems with ASTRA via SDK or deploying our open source software. The Gemstra Token provides a system of governance to the actors using ASTRA to stake and vote on important business decisions.

Why is Gemstra Important?
It’s time for crypto to start helping people in a real way through real business - not vapor-esque pie-in-the-sky decade-later maybe-or-maybe-not technology. Unfortunately, most highly valued cryptocurrencies in the market today (2018) are entirely speculative - and largely around platforms that may or may not ever be profitable or sustainable.

Gemstra has a proven business based on established fundamental economics and operated by veteran consumer-oriented operators. Gemstra is already paying out commissions to thousands of social sellers and the numbers are growing monthly. We will have live utility on October 1 and bonus sellers taking commissions in crypto and discounting all orders placed with crypto. We’re going to focus on seller growth and reach $100 Million in annualized sales volume by the end of 2019. Approximately 30-40% ($30-$40 Million) of volume will be paid out as commission to sellers. Given our incentive model to welcome sellers to crypto use, we expect 35% election of receiving commission in Gemstra Token (GMS).
