@altcoinbuzz daily update(29/1/18) covered by Shailen - This is an article version of the video made with the links to all the information mentioned in the video + I do add a few points which i feel could help out(IMO- In my opinion)
Since the price action seems to be going sideways + there's not a lot of news to cover, here is my TA for BTC price action(https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/BLwISPQA-BTC-USD/) :
When I say the price action seems to be side ways .. its creating a bearish Flag essentially for those who don't know what a bearish flag is
Onto the daily news :
1) Bitcoin is BORING!’ Here’s what needs to happen before EVERYBODY uses cryptocurrency :
Speaking to Bloomberg, Cheung said: “From an investor perspective, especially as a VC investor, Bitcoin is boring.
“It’s like the Motorola cell phone back in 1984, great we have brick that costs us $3,900 and weighs two pounds and it works alright.
“But we realised that after bitcoin there’s still three to four major key areas in infrastructure that needs to be resolved before we can move to real true mass adoption of the technology.
“The three key areas are right now scalability if you look at throughput Visa does about on average 2,000 transactions per second.
The second factor is whether these different cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies can work interchangeably with one another, Cheung said.
She said: “Two is interchanged operability because what we do believe at the end of the day there won’t be one blockchain that does everything.
“We will live in a world of many blockchains both private and public and the communications between blockchain’s right now is very challenging.”
The third factor was the privacy issues surrounding cryptocurrencies.
2) Growing Number of South Korean Crypto Exchanges Participate in Self-Regulation:
The number of cryptocurrency exchanges participating in self-regulation has nearly doubled in South Korea. The crypto self-regulation efforts are led by the Korean Blockchain Association which has recently launched with 66 members. The association also plans to develop standard price indices for the main cryptocurrencies. During the first half of the year, the association “plans to create an information system that allows the public to easily understand virtual currency,” Chosun detailed, adding that:
The association also plans to develop a standard index of key virtual currency prices and transaction data…The intention is to provide credible information as standard transaction data.

IMO: This is by far the BIGGEST step to secure the future of cryptocurrencies. The panel of self-regulators consists of 66 members which included the country’s major platforms such as Upbit, Bithumb, Korbit, Coinone, and Coinplug. Now hopefully this instills confidence in both the retail and institutional money.
**3)UK’s first Bitcoin robbery victim ‘too scared’ to return home with wife and baby after armed robbers forced City trader to transfer cryptocurrency fortune at gunpoint:
Mr Aston, known online as Goldiath, is registered as director of a company which trades in cryptocurrency from the family's £800,000 home in Moulsford, Oxfordshire.
A neighbour yesterday said the young couple, aged 31 and 30, had gone into hiding at a secret address after the terrifying raid.
They said: "I was not here at the time but I know the couple have left and are staying with relatives, they haven’t been back since.
"We are all obviously a bit shaken up, even though a few days have passed now. It is not what you expect to happen around here."

IMO: Always keep the 24 charecter recovery password of your wallets in different locations + make sure to use a hard wallet i.e Ledger Nano S for expample.
**4) Tether, the troubled cryptocurrency hit by a $31 million hack, has split with its auditors :
CoinDesk reports that Tether said in a statement on Saturday night that its relationship with Friedman LLP “is dissolved.”
The cryptocurrency was hit by a $US31 million heist in November. The attack led to online rumours that Tether, which is closely linked to cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex, is facing deeper issues around its solvency. The press has also raised questions about Tether’s handling of its cryptocurrency.
One persistent online critic, going by the screen name Bitfinex’ed, has written several very detailed essays on Medium arguing that Bitfinex appears to be creating Tether coins out of thin air and then using them to buy Bitcoin and push the price up. Business Insider contacted Tether for clarification of when it parted ways with Friedman LLP and whether it has hired a new auditor. The company did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
IMO: I think Tether has an unsustainable business model and cannot last for long, having no proof of what they are backing USDT with, its essentially a Fiat currency wearing a crypto coat .. haha :))
5) Philippines to develop rules on cryptocurrency trading :
MANILA (Reuters) - The Philippines’ Securities and Exchange Commission said on Monday it is crafting rules to regulate cryptocurrency transactions to protect investors and reduce the risk of fraud.
