What is AltLayer?
AltLayer is a temporary extension layer built on OptimisticRollups, connected to Layer1 and Layer2 of Ethereum, Solana, Polka, Cosmos, and even Arbitrum, Optimism, etc. AltLayer supports multi-chain and multi-VM, and supports EVM and WASM by default. Therefore, AltLayer is not tied to a single Layer 1 or Layer2, but can be used as a Modularization and pluggable extension scheme for all EVM and WASM compatible chains.
AltLayer is designed with Modularization throughout the stack, and end users can choose Rollup according to their needs: preferred runtime, such as EVM, WASM, etc., data availability layer, such as underlying L1, Celestria, etc., settlement layer, such as Ethereum, Arbitrum One, etc. In addition to Modularization, AltLayer core features include flexibility that scales with the application, multi-virtual machine support, fraud proof, decentralized sorter, hierarchical finalization, and no-code Rollup startup.
AltLayer completed a $7.20 million seed round of financing via SAFT in July 2022, co-led by Polychain Capital, Jump Crypto and Breyer Capital, with participation from Ethereum co-founder and Polka founder Gavin Wood and Circle co-founder Sean Neville, among others. They have confirmed that they will launch their own tokens in the future. Completed testnet operations and stated that early users of their NFTs may be eligible for airdrops when launching their tokens.
At present, AltLayer has entered the second round of testnet stage, so there is still more time for us to interact, and without further ado, we begin to enter the interactive process.
II. AltLayer Interaction Flow
Visit the AltLayer testnet doorway pages testnet-rollup-bridge.altlayer.io connect to the wallet and change the network to the Sepolia testnet.
Receive Sepolia ETH test tokens. We have taught this step in many previous testnet tutorials. Enter the official website https://sepoliafaucet.com/ verify the account, and retweet as required to lead the water.
Receive MSEQ tokens
Enter the website: https://testnet-faucet.altlayer.io/ login Twitter account, enter the wallet address to collectMint an MSNFT
Go to the website: https://testnet-mint.altlayer.io/ link wallet, click on the homepage Mint MSNFTNow return to the testnet doorway pages: https://testnet-rollup-bridge.altlayer.io/deposit , deposit ETH from Sepolia into Multi Sequencer Testnet L2, and then deposit the MSEQ we received from Sepolia into Multi Sequencer Testnet L2.
Enter the token ID, store the MSNFT from Sepolia into the AltLayer testnet, and then transfer these three from Multi Sequencer Testnet L2 to Sepolia, and the whole process is basically over.
AltLayer's current test network, the overall interaction process is relatively simple, do not rule out the future will bridge more ecological, then we can continue to pay attention to, to maintain a stable rhythm of interaction in order to achieve a greater degree of fruit harvest.
